The Virgin is generally referred to as the Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos, but is sometimes referred to by her native name, Cihuapilli, which means “Great Lady.” The pilgrims come from all parts of Mexico. Organized groups will walk hundreds of miles to San Juan de los Lagos; large bicycle pilgrimages culminate in San Juan de los Lagos.
